155-Acres and a Mile of Salmon Creek Protected Forever!

- Successes

Jefferson Land Trust has permanently protected a mile of Salmon Creek and 155-acres in the Snow and Salmon Creeks watershed.  The recent acquisition supports salmon, bears, birds, and other wildlife on the Peninsula. Jefferson Land Trust will manage the land as a nature preserve and restore tributaries along the property to prevent erosion and protect water quality. The protection of this property was made possible by funding from the Jefferson County Conservation Futures Fund as well two Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office grants: a Salmon Recovery Funding Board grant and a Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program grant.
