Bainbridge Island Land Trust has been restoring a critical fish habitat in the Springbrook Creek Preserve. They have removed a culvert, stabilized the stream bank through restoration and planting efforts, and are even using eDNA to research all the species present in this habitat. At a recent WALT peer member meeting on Bainbridge, staff from nine neighboring land trusts were able to see the active restoration efforts and their newly installed 30-foot pedestrian bridge over the stream, which facilitates public access across the waterway!
