In 2022, San Juan Preservation Trust and San Juan County Conservation Land Bank partnered to purchase the former Glenwood Inn property. After many years of navigating a complex conservation easement, the North Shore Preserve conservation easement was officially closed on March 17th, 2025. This protection ensures the permanent preservation of 58 acres of upland forest, feeder bluffs, tidelands, and over 1,850 feet of Orcas Island shoreline.
